ABOUT US

Two photographers, two different paths, one shared passion: telling the story of the world with an authentic, creative, and curious eye.

We found our home in Siem Reap, Cambodia, after years spent traveling, exploring, and photographing across Asia. Our passion for photography has taken us to extraordinary places, and today we want to share that journey with those who, like us, love seeing the world through a lens.

These photo tours are designed for those seeking an authentic experience, far from the usual tourist routes. Whether you’re just starting out or an experienced photographer, we love the idea of guiding you through places we know intimately, at the best times of day—when the light tells stories and the people welcome you with a smile.

For us, photography isn’t just about taking beautiful images: it’s about getting to know a place, listening, and observing with intention. Our tours are relaxed, custom-designed, with exclusive experiences and always a personal touch.

If you like the idea of slow travel, discovering hidden corners, and learning something new along the way, you’re in the right place.

Alessandro Vannucci

Photographer & Tour Leader – Founder – Italian & English

Resident in Siem Reap, Angkor, Cambodia

A photographer by passion since the early 90s, I became a freelance professional when I moved to Cambodia in 2008. Here, I began documenting the projects of various humanitarian organizations through photography and video, while simultaneously feeding my curiosity as a traveler and photographer..

In 2012, I founded Angkor Travel Photography, a tour operator specialized in photographic tours and workshops in the Angkor archaeological area, Cambodia, and throughout Southeast Asia.
Today, at Angkor Travel Photography, we are three professional photographers: Regis Binard e Remi Abad and myself. Together, we have conducted over 2,000 visits to the temples of Angkor and hundreds of tours in other locations across Cambodia.

A few years later, we launched Asia Travel Photography, expanding our photographic tours to other Asian countries.

My deep knowledge of Cambodia and its local culture has allowed me, over time, to refine our photographic itineraries, making them increasingly suited to the needs of photographers like us: far from tourist-standard routes and designed to offer truly unique travel experiences. My knowledge of the Khmer language also helps me interact with the local people, capturing authentic and unforgettable moments.

My journey in photography is still ongoing and has led me to experiment with and explore different techniques, from infrared to time-lapse, and even iPhonography. I am convinced that digital post-production is an indispensable tool in photography today. During my travels, I teach the most advanced techniques in this field and am always happy to share my “secrets” to help you make your shots truly special.

Recently, I’ve started exploring image generation with artificial intelligence, not to replace traditional photography, but to complement it as a new tool for visual exploration. For me, A.I. represents an untapped creative territory, an extension of imagination that allows us to visualize concepts, dreams, and atmospheres that are difficult to realize in the real world. It is an evolving language that I am learning with curiosity and respect, never forgetting that photography remains my first love and my main means of expression.

Today, my home is in Siem Reap, just a few steps from the majestic temples of Angkor. I live here with my wife Mom and our children, Davide and Marco,  surrounded by the beauty of this land that welcomed me many years ago and continues to surprise me.

Photographer & Tour Leader – Spanish, Italian, French & English

Resident in Siem Reap, Angkor, Cambodia

Spanish by birth but Italian by adoption, an architect by training and a photographer by vocation, I have been dedicated to artistic photography for over twenty years. My connection to Cambodia began in 2009, and after many years of travel and experiences around the world, in 2024 I decided to return and settle in Siem Reap to fully develop my creative work and lead unique photographic experiences.

Throughout my career, I have worked as an Art Director, video artist, and visual consultant, merging photography with other disciplines such as painting and sculpture. My work has been exhibited internationally and is present in both public and private collections..

Since my return to Cambodia, I’ve started conducting custom photography tours, focused on authentic experiences, cultural respect, and the search for beauty through the lens. I deeply believe in ethical photography, based on empathy and real contact with the communities we visit. My experience as vice president of a local NGO has allowed me to understand the social, cultural, and human dynamics of the country in depth.

My artistic and conceptual approach adds value to every tour: it’s not just about visiting places, but about learning to see with different eyes, composing from emotion, and finding the possibility of an unforgettable image, even in everyday life. During the tours, I share techniques, compositional tips, and, most importantly, a way of seeing the world through the art of photography.

I currently live in Siem Reap, just a few kilometers from the extraordinary temples of Angkor.

    Who I really am

      • I love the sound of a pagoda full of children and the overwhelming silence of the jungle.
      • I can’t stand air conditioning, although Cambodia has made me love it 😉
      • If I could choose a superpower, it would be “stopping time with a photograph.” Oh! That’s what I do every day!!!
      • I’ve walked for miles with my camera in hand, just to chase that light.
      • I’ve lived more lives in one than many do in three.
      • I don’t miss Europe, except for my friends.
      • I never photograph without asking for permission (even if just with my eyes).
      • I believe that true beauty needs time, listening, and respect.
